Hello, everybody. Welcome back. It is the meat to eat talk podcast. And yes, it's the truth serum. Siri's where we promised to tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help me God. And yes, it's going to be an amazing episode today. You guys listen to the newest topic that we're doing today. It is called I won't scratch your itch. What if I need your help to scratch you with a scratch? My No, I can't do it. It's not on me to do that. God didn't tell me to do that. That's not my ministry. However, we have someone that absolutely won't scratch your itch at any point in time. He is the author. He is a spiritual advisor in my eyes. And on top of that, he is a newlywed. Ah, husband. Oh, my God. Can we bring him onto the air? Cameron! Bracey, are you here?

spk_2:   1:04
Hey, other right. Knowing

spk_0:   1:06
down, man. Thank you. We're so glad to have you on this show. We feel blessed to bring you into the show. I'm on it. No, Trust me. The honor is here. It's all ours. It is. It's all ours. It is. And we have the pleasure of knowing you. But this this side of you were just in love with my friend. Okay, so we would like to tell our audience to brace themselves. Okay. Brace themselves for you at the front door shut. Don't get you almost played on his last name. I didn't play. You don't see you blowing. That's what brace he does. Okay. In camera. Would you please tell our audience what they need to brace themselves for? Tell us a little bit about yourself.

spk_2:   1:58
My name is Cameron Bracey. Thank you all for having me. I am 21 years old, and that is actually what I discovered my gift of, ah, writing

spk_0:   2:07
some of those

spk_2:   2:08
who have been questioning what I do like around any kind nails that here I'm in authors, inspirational speaker, anything. You're into it,

spk_0:   2:16
but I discover

spk_2:   2:17
my gift. I just slept with my gift of writing, though back in 2018. That's when I had actually failed the nursing program. Priors. That failure. I actually, uh, had always been writing a little bit on my laptop. I just never put all the stocks together. And then when that failure had happened. Yeah, I remember. A guy was just like a setback. Beat what you've been writing together. I've been talking to you through them. So after I did that, my first book Don't give up just yet. You still have a purpose?

spk_0:   2:49
My

spk_2:   2:49
second book, Diving Into Destiny And then my 3rd 1 of the 100 day devotional called Jump Into Base.

spk_0:   2:56
Wow. Can want You haven't even read three books in the last year. You broke a three in the last year and 1/2. Man, Come on. That hurt my feelings. Right now this devotion is pretty. Don't man, like, really It had me into it on. And I know you wrote it for people like me who not so much a short attention span, but people who'd like short attention such a face. People who can't take it all at once. But you can really, like, got your own pace. And you really want to read it all at one time, and it's that easy to do. So you know, I appreciate you for a man for people like me and their help. And then hold on. You got the rest of the people the people like me. I love everything you have written. I have been ah, fan since the very beginning and I've watched you to your book tours. I've I've noticed how you have been on air, on radio shows and things like that. You've done so much and accomplished so many things in so little time. And that is so impressive. It is just in itself. But this devotional I will go back to what my husband said. Shut the front door, open the book and read it. But there have been just so many things that I feel that have taught me. And I know we know you from a teaching standpoint, you know, you were involved in our class. You and you're beautiful. Wonderful wife. Oh, my goodness. Is he not winning? He is winning at life right now. I mean, any bad things you can say they can. Has going on No, no. Three books. No married. A beautiful woman. Yeah, living that, living that life. So yeah. Hats off to you, sir. That's up to you and hashtag favor because you got it. It's not. Their favor is not fail. It's not. But you got it okay. And I would like to jump in, You know, I'd love you know everything that you put in your devotional. But I am so drawn to Day five and especially what's going on in today's world. If it's okay, I'd like to read it to you, even though I know you know the words, but I have to read it because it just I just feel like it gave me life and will give life to our listeners. Is that OK?

spk_2:   5:02
Yeah, of course.

spk_0:   5:03
In the mist of a storm, you will be tempted to listen to other's voices. I encourage you to. On Li. Listen for God's voice. He communicates through storms. What I like about what you did in this book, Cameron, as you didn't just say, Hey, you know, I'm gonna tell them what they want to hear. You said you need to hear the voice of God above all else. Yeah, the truth. The truth. And could you kind of tell us where you were when you were writing Day five of your devotional?

spk_2:   5:34
That's what I was going through my rough patch with the nursing program. You know, it wasn't so much the program itself. It was one class obstinate trick. That class gave me a hard time, and that was in the midst of you know what? God, You know, you have that burning in your stomach. And guy was pulling me this way, and I'm like, No, but my plan Is this another end result. I know this. I know that when guys pointy one way, you know you want to go, but you're kind of nervous. So I remember when I was going through that storm, I would talk to a few of my friends, and I would talk to my wife, who was in my girlfriend, and I will go. Hey, you know, how do you How do you feel about this? You know, what do you think I should do about this? You know, people are supportive, you know, those who love you, porch and everything. But, you know, part of being safe, you know, they kind of go. But what is that going to do for you? What are the benefits, you know? Are you gonna have a steady income? Are you gonna be able to provide for your family? And yes, it's wise to think about all of that. But I know my God is my provided. So I know he will see me through the storm. And, you know, many times throughout the Bible reference, God has always been there in the storm. Always been there, so I knew that he would carry me through it all. No matter what I was going through. Other voices may try to tell you to give up. The guy was going, so

spk_0:   6:48
that's a very good point. So can the match you this thing, Ryder and I knowing you and knowing that when you have a plan, your plan like, goes into four force that goes into action. So this nursing program nursing in general, that was the plan. So how hard was it to shift your focus from that when you have to listen to what God had in store for you versus what you already had a thought for yourself?

spk_2:   7:10
It's difficult, you know. I'll be honest with you know what you just said. A keyword is focus. You know, when you focus on something, you zoom in on it like that's all you see.

spk_0:   7:19
You know, when

spk_2:   7:20
you when you laid your eyes on line, that's all you saw blurry.

spk_0:   7:25
She was clear

spk_2:   7:26
to you. It was clear that you wanted her. You know, she was for you. That's how it works for me was nursing. That's all I saw that all I've been myself doing. But then, you know, I had that thing on the inside. That guy was like, Yes, I know. I've caused you to do something else,

spk_0:   7:40
You know? Not that

spk_2:   7:41
this is the wrong path, but I think he just had The God God works on uses us in different ways to develop us,

spk_0:   7:47
right? And I

spk_2:   7:48
think he took me through that season to develop me. You know, a priority that I've never failed anything in my life. You know, you can ask my parents. You can ask my wife. You can ask your little brother's. I've never failed at anything. That was like the first time I hit rock bottom. Like God had to, you know, he had to hit me or have tohave me fall so that my vision should refocus.

spk_0:   8:11
I mean,

spk_2:   8:11
I was focused on this. He goes, No, that's not it. Focus on this. He took me from nursing toe writing, which is a full 1 83 60 Whatever you want to say,

spk_0:   8:20
right?

spk_2:   8:22
And yeah, you know, my focus. I just started focusing on him. And the one thing about what you're focusing on guy, his his vision. So it's perfect going after what he wants you to do. You're not going to see see it all the way through,

spk_0:   8:35
you

spk_2:   8:35
know? So he's just going to take you one day once that by the time you know, that's that's why I'm at right now. You know, you tell when people are focused on what guy wants to do they make that means go all the way. Now that that's not the case, you

spk_0:   8:47
know,

spk_2:   8:48
one day at a time

spk_0:   8:49
cannot. Such a very good point is my follow up question was gonna be because, like, you just said, you hadn't felt anything. So the fact that you did I know you felt some type of way. So how did you get from there? So where you ended up in the first place,

spk_2:   9:02
you know? Ah. Although I like I said, you know, when you followed them and the bite was as a man who falls down seven times, it gets up right So you know, I fell. I told myself I'm not gonna squander in this puddle. You know, I'm a little wet, but I'm gonna get up

spk_0:   9:16
above all,

spk_2:   9:17
keep on going. You know, some people they sit there like, Oh, my gosh, I felt although what else to do, a lot of people going, I'm not going people do. You know, I don't know what I'm to do now. That's for the devil wants you, you

spk_0:   9:27
know? And that's that's

spk_2:   9:28
the part about you know, failure doesn't mean that's the end of the road. It just This is the area of your life where clearly God had the work on you. He had the strength in you and honestly, that failure it got me. My relationship with God has increased a lot because of that.

spk_0:   9:44
No, Clearly

spk_2:   9:45
he was intentional. And yeah, you just you got to get back up. So anybody who's listening, you know, if you fail in anything, you've got to get back up. You can't wander in that puddle.

spk_0:   9:54
No

spk_2:   9:55
good in there.

spk_0:   9:55
I agree. I was reading this part in here where it says I am quick to call my parents, my grandparents, or even my friends. I seek them for solutions. But then I go to God and start groping and complaining about what I'm going through. And I just thought that was very honest. It was clear, and many of us have done that and, you know, on and then, you know, we tend to blame those who give us advice. But I was glad that you, you know, you just opened up and said, You know what? I know I always do this, but I'm going to do something different than again. I go back to what you said earlier that has to be challenging when you're used to the advice of others. How did that feel when you know you're used to hearing that advice? And you knew in your heart of hearts, it sounds like that. Wasn't that the advice you needed to hear this time?

spk_2:   10:45
You know, it's tough

spk_0:   10:47
zits,

spk_2:   10:49
You know, if I'm being, if I'm being really you know, it's it's tough, you know, it could be nerve wracking sometimes because when everybody sees you going down this one route that looks promising, that you no guarantees a steady income that guarantees benefits and you, you know you're like, Well, God has revealed this to me. Not that they don't support you. Must my parents, my wife, my siblings They've been nothing but supportive.

spk_0:   11:13
But

spk_2:   11:13
I think it's normal, You know, for people who love you, they want to protect you. They want you to be safe. So, you know, I had a kind of shift from going to complaining to God and, you know, calling my parents. I hate what I do. Have a go to guy and go guy. What do you want me to do?

spk_0:   11:28
You know, I

spk_2:   11:29
shipped in my perspective. I shifted. You know what I'm going to him for? You know what? We go to God. He doesn't want to listen to what complaint?

spk_0:   11:34
No,

spk_2:   11:35
that's not what he wants us to do. Because he already know. He already knew what we were gonna go through.

spk_0:   11:39
Yeah,

spk_2:   11:39
So it was more of guy. What do you want me to do? And then I just stood on guys were, you know, And like I said, my parents, my wife, my entire family, they've been nothing but supportive. Nothing but supportive.

spk_0:   11:50
Yes, Awesome. That's good. It's actually kind of crazy to think that it's already rating. Like what you think versus the plans he has in store for you. Not since I tend not gonna line up. No, no, not at all. But it's already written, and it's crazy for us to kind of just follow him like it's hard. But that's the essence of faith. It really is. It is many other plans of a man's heart, but is the Lord's purpose that will prevail. And we have to, you know, be okay with it. Now I'm gonna be right with you. There are times I'm like, Lord, what's going on? What you're doing, You know, and you know, But it's something about when you sit back and you let him take over. And he is the one that could, you know again. He's the author and the finisher of your faith. And so if anybody knows how to write a book, a good book, he knows. So I mean, if he's telling you to write one, we're definitely Listen Thank you for hearing us out with that. We got to jump into day seven. Okay? Yes, that that also stood out and again, I'm gonna read it to you and I would really like your input on it.

spk_2:   12:53
Yeah, of course.

spk_0:   12:54
Day seven. Do not let your age prevent you from fulfilling what God has called you to do. You're never too old to get a degree. And you are never too young to plan, Isi. Love it. Love it. Okay, Now tell us now. You you kind of already ushered us in. Give us some more. Tell us. Give some more great advice. Yes, but you're not even 23 0 self. Yes. Okay. I was I was a little too deep for it's only 30 but I'm ready for it. No, no, I think it. I think he is in his full purpose. Because there are people that are 55 75 85. Still don't know this lesson. So please tell me, what can I say? He's in his bag with The young kids are saying no cameras in his bag. Oh, no, baby, That one. I know that was not That's not on trend. We'll figure it out till two guests there. Go ahead. Tell us. Um

spk_2:   13:47
honestly, you know, with day seven,

spk_1:   13:50
you know, I come across

spk_2:   13:51
a lot of people both young and old and they will

spk_1:   13:54
say, Hey, how old are you? And I go, You know, I'm 22. What? There. And you're already? Yeah, you know. What do you do? Oh, man. You know, I'm 60 and I really don't know. You know, I think I'm too old to start, however, but what people don't realize is you've never missed your calling. It the school. Breathe.

spk_0:   14:14
You know, it's

spk_1:   14:16
not too late unless you're in the grave, you know? So when I hear people say, you know, I think it's too late for me to go back to school. Well, it to late or are you afraid?

spk_0:   14:29
Oh, are

spk_1:   14:29
you worried about the money? You know who you think is gonna provide for, You know, guys presenting your heart. I believe anything got a place in your heart. He's gonna make a way for you. That's just that it's It's simple when this plane Is that so when I say, you know, don't let your age prevention of doing any. You're not too young to write a book and you're not too old to get a degree. You're not going to get married. My wife and I married at 22 23 today. The average age I believe for many people get married is like 30. And my previous plan before was I'm not gonna give you some, like 300.5 point six all in my career. The guy was like, Now that's not what I got for you.

spk_0:   15:06
Face

spk_1:   15:07
is your face in your face and your career

spk_0:   15:10
was

spk_1:   15:10
your faith in me. Like your career doesn't provide for you, you know? And I know a lot of people right now, you know, they might go against that, but we're going through a time now where you see, you know, when a business struggle and they're quick to let you go. The guy still has his grip on you, so you know, it's it's never too late, and it's never too early to do anything. Like I said, the only time it is too late is when you did. But as long as you're still breathing and clearly if you're listening this today, you breathe in your life, you save, you know, go after whatever it is God called you to do,

spk_0:   15:40
cannot is good, man, because if you think about it lot nowadays, a lot of us give ourselves excuses. Where will

spk_1:   15:46
you will

spk_0:   15:47
use that age? Is a cop out? Yeah, you know I'm past my prime. Or and then in that case, we'll start living to our kids or something that effect because the way we think we can accomplish anymore. So if I was a parent, that didn't go to college while my son's got to go to college because I didn't do it. And you know that that's not the way to be. You've got to be an example versus living through somebody else. And you also can be a person. Is I'm too young. I'm not there yet. I need a little bit more time. You know, I have so much, you know, I could do that in 10 years. You know, I'm only 20. I'm only 23. I'm only 22. I can't do that much. I'm just getting started. No, you. That's what it's meant for. And I love what he said. Like in ah, your book you put in there. God put those ideas in your mind for a reason. Yes, that is, that's huge. That's so true. You know, we teach that in our class setting and we always tell people all the time You're the armor bearer of that gift. He put that into you, and it is your job to see it through, to flourish in. And so, ah, lot of times, people don't know that they think, Oh, I don't like that. I got a lot of ideas when, you know, he gave him to you for a reason. Because I know you would execute it the best. Agree. So I'm impressed with you. Oh, I'm serious. We could We could go on this one for days. Cameron, I'm gonna go get off this time. Go write a book. We're going to see you. We're going to say you your eyes are gonna be short stories and illustrated, but it's gonna happen. You're our inspiration. Okay? You know, just be looking at we're gonna get our e book Thio. Okay. Well, we have to ask you because you know it perfectly Segways into this, But Day 12 breaking the law of validation. Okay, Now tell us about that. Where were you at that point when you said I'm gonna break the law validation? What made you write that?

spk_2:   17:39
Oh, yes. So this temp actually from my second book Dive Into your Destiny And the subtitle was It is Validation is not your destination

spk_1:   17:49
way We live in a generation where if you don't have one million instagram followers, you're not qualified to go. Everyone got a card you could do

spk_0:   17:58
better Say

spk_1:   18:00
you're not. If you don't have this specific body types, you can't be a model.

spk_0:   18:05
So

spk_1:   18:05
if you don't have these looks if you don't think this certain type of way you can't do whatever it is you've been called to do. So basically I was coming from a place of Okay, I want to be author. I put out motivational material every day every other day, but I only got $300 on the ground. I only got $400. If the grand I don't see any where in the Bible where God talks about your followers, qualify what you do

spk_0:   18:30
t 0 12 and look with a

spk_1:   18:34
capital 12 on Lee. One was at the cross little on one. So I don't know what that sticks with people. But when I read the word, it tells me it doesn't matter how many followers, whether you have 400 or 400 million. You know who's who's riding with you all the way? Who sees you from your worst to your greatest or from your greatest to your worst? Who sees, you know? So anybody lifts and you know, even though the pie cash You know, if you wanna start a podcast today, it doesn't matter how many followers you have you plant to see Veselin. Guy will water it that harvest. But a lot of people want guys harbor something that's never been planet.

spk_0:   19:14
You're hitting the point because

spk_1:   19:17
I'm not tryingto yeah,

spk_0:   19:18
you good. Because people nowadays we're looking for validation in all the wrong places. Right when I'd be seeking him first. But like you said, we're going to our friends. We're family. We're just leaving our followers. Like, what do you guys wanna hear from me versus what does god need me to say? Exactly? Right, Right. You know, if you're coming up, if we're coming up with things that you want to hear, that actually defeats the purpose of what were called to Dio and you hit the nail on the head. You know, when we came began to start to do the podcast You know, we have people from the class that actually told us Hey, we would love for you guys to get a podcast together. And I remember it was all of these different people saying, Why would anybody want to listen to your podcasts? Why would anybody want to, You know, do it? You know, it's it's such a niche. And then once you say Christian, you're in a box and you can't go any further. Well, I just felt like that box was my stepping stone. You know, your husband's right stone to move us into different places. And I don't do what everybody else does. We have. We've heard so many people say, Oh, I listen And I watched the trends on on Instagram and Facebook. No, we listen to what God has given us a word to say. We pray on it, we meditate on, and then we bring it to you know our audience and, you know, you know, God is the one that is gonna be the reward er of them who seek him diligently. And so every time we seek him than in turn, we noticed that our followers grow. We don't go with the norm with that. And so we thank God for that because, you know, we started off. I think we remember our first podcast. We had, like, 20 downloads, and we were all excited. Was like we got 20. Tell knows. Oh, my God. God is good way made it. We did it right.
